Ground transportation by means of vehicles is often performed by road. This pano shows Elche’s Children Traffic Park. A traffic park plays and important role in the education of children towards good driving manners. Traffic accidents fill up a very important negative statistic every year here in Spain.

The traffic park is located on one side of the Vinalopo river and next to the Municipal Park and covers 12.500 square meters. It is surrounded by palm trees and gardens which make the park a place of extraordinary beauty. Not only for this reason but also for its facilities it is considered one of the best traffic parks in Spain.

It was first open in 1.971 and has, since then, been managed by the Local Police Corp and used to host the Municipal School of Driving Education. It is them who have really made it work for all these years. Elche’s Children Traffic Park takes part in national and international competitions and has several times been national, European and world champion.

I would like to thank Manuel Galindo, a Local Police officer and monitor of the traffic park, for kindly letting me in and for providing me with some locally printed brochures with information about the park.
