The Situation

In Mexico City and its metropolitan area the favorite way of transportation and the one with most demand is the car. Day after day we have more than 4 million cars on the streets. At top hours it is very difficult to drive and almost impossible not to be part of a huge traffic jam. For this extremely populated city it is urgent to find new and alternate means of transportation and to convince car owners and drivers to use those alternatives. The buses, microbuses and the subway have been saturated.

Even living day after day with this situation, residents of this city have a lot of offers and diversity of new cars models. Not to mention the very easy ways of payments to get a new one and pay for it from one to four years. Car factories from the U.S.A., Germany, Japan, South Korea, Italy, France, Sweden or the U.K. present year after year their latest creations. From the most luxurious models, sports cars or utility to the most economic and environmentally friendly ones. In very few countries could you find so many car firms present in a single city. Brands like Ford, Chrysler, General Motors, Jeep, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Acura, Mitsubishi, Renault, Land Rover, Audi, BMW, VW, Fiat, Volvo or Ferrari just to mention some of them.

On the positive side I must say that many of those world car firms have built assambly factories in our country. And with that creating thousands of new jobs for good people. A situation which has converted México to one of the biggest world car exporters and at the same time one of the biggest consumers.

With the presence of that amount of cars driving every day on our streets the quality of the air is degrading all the time. Thanks to the technological advances in fuel efficiency and the fabrication of more efficient motors, mainly from Japanese firms like Toyota, the air in Mexico City still allows us to breath well.

The Toyota firm was almost the last one to be set in México, but suddenly it has taken the market by storm and at this moment they are registering a never before seen level of sales. The low fuel consumption on their units, their very clean and efficient motors, a good price and a very low cost of maintenance make me think the Toyota brand will be the most seen and sold in the next years to come here in México.

The Panorama

On this panorama I show you the sales area of one of the biggest car dealers in the city, the "Toyota Universidad" car agency. In here you can take a look at the last models, get inside of them, ask about technical characteristics, prices and also take a test drive for free. I must thank Engineer Raúl Barrientos Bravo member of Toyota México service area and the manager Chafic at Toyota Universidad for all their help and attentions for the photo session.

Hope you like the view !!!
