At an elevation of 132 m (432 ft), Shooters Hill is the highest point in South London, offering some superb views of the surrounding area.

The name 'Shooters Hill' was first recorded in 1226. The hill was the most notorious spot in England for highway robberies, where highwaymen took advantage of the dark woods to ambush travellers on the road from London to Kent.

Today, Shooters Hill lies within the London borough of Greenwich.
