In late October, 2010, I had the chance to visit the great city of Athens in Greece.

A stormy morning I discovered that a quiet 20-minutes climb up walk could lead you to the top of Philopappos Hill. This pano was shot at the summit of this hill and shows a panoramic view of the large city of Athens.

The hill offers a magnificent view of the whole city: The Odeon of Herodes Atticus and The Acropolis are clearly seen with Lycabettus Hill right behind them; the National Gardens; the New Acropolis Museum; the Temple of Olympian Zeus; the Panathinaiko Stadium, just to name a few of them. And all of these surrounded by the chaotic suburbs of Athens that go all the way to Piraeus in the Saronic Gulf.

In the foreground of the pano you can also see the remains of the 2nd Century AD Monument to Philopappos, a powerful Greek citizen at that time, that has eventually named the hill.

Special thanks go to the god of sky and thunder, Zeus, for such a pleasant morning.
