The Labyrinth represents a journey to our own centre and back again out into the world. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools.

A labyrinth is an archetype with which we can have a direct experience. We can walk it. It is a metaphor for life's journey. It is a symbol that creates a sacred space and place and takes us out of our ego to "That Which Is Within." (from Lessons for Living)

Permission to access the labyrinth and shoot this panorama was graciously granted by my friends Roger and Sylvia, who lovingly built it near their home on Salt Spring Island.

Equipment

Nikon D700 with 'shaved' Nikon 10.5mm lens. Manfrotto 085 tripod, Nodal Ninja pano head.

4 shots all around, each shot bracketed 5 stops between 1/160 to 1/10 sec. @ f:7.1 plus one nadir shot, hand-held. Processed in Adobe Camera Raw, HDR fusion in Photomatix Pro. Stitched with PTGui Pro. Touched up in Adobe Photoshop CS5.0
