Yesterday, June 6th 2012, the Trutzburg was destroyed on behalf of the local government.

Up until yesterday it was sitting in the vinyards next to Heppenheim. I took a panorama in spring for WWP-Culture, when the newspapers already announced that it will be torn down soon.

A local artist wrote a satiric fairytale about the Trutzburg and pinned it at the fence which was installed weeks ago to prevent people entering the castle. The text is in german language and full of wordplays and satiric references to (local) politics. I'm not able to translate it to English, but perhaps you can understand German. Then go ahead and read it at the fence!
