Die Hubbruecke (The Lift Bridge) was built about 1900 and is still in use, being one of the most important traffic nodes in the town. It is one of 11 bridges connecting the Old Town Island of Lübeck with "the rest of the world". The Lift Bridge contains of three independent parts: the Railway part, the Motorway part and the Pedestrian part. The Railway and Motorway parts are movable, while the Pedestrian part isn't. It can be only accessed using stairs.
