There is a comprehensive work in progress to preserve and rehabilitate Canada's Parliament Buildings. The buildings are being restored structurally, modernized to current building standards, and rehabilitated to provide functional parliamentary and visitor facilities that meet the technical expectations of the 21st century.

The pano opens looking at the sheath of protective material covering the West Block and my new bicycle.

Panning right we see the Centennial Flame, the temporary stage and lighting tower being set up for Canada Day celebrations, the Peace Tower the chimes just finished after the 16.6 cm (7 in.) in diameter 10,160 kg (22,400 lb.) bourdon bell tuned to E struck six times. the East Block, the sun rising over an (RCMP) Royal Canadian Mounted Police car and the ornate fence and gates along Wellington Street from the Rideau Canal all the way to Bank Street.

Working people in this pano include, me, the overnight security guard protecting the stage being constructed for Canada Day and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police security detail.
