Goedereede is a small town in South Holland. It is best known for its annual port wine festival, called the Goereese Portdagen. In 1918 a ship carrying a large load of port wine sank near the coast. Local fishermen salvaged 434 barrels of port wine. The wine was auctioned and the revenue of 293.337 Florin was shared between the fishermen and the municipality.

On my trip to Holland I only had a snapshot camera with me. So I photographed this panorama handheld and in automatic mode, in the same way as I have photographed my first panoramas 20 years ago.
