This is the main square (Stora Torget) of Örnsköldsvik, a town in northern Sweden on the Golf of Bothnia. It is early Saturday morning and the town is waiting for the last two days of shopping before Christmas. In three hours this place will be very crowded. The statue, "Sörkörare" by Asmund Arle, illustrates the trade of fur and other valuables of the northern forests in the old days. The trade used to pass Ornskoldsvik, and since then Örnsköldsvik is a busy commercial center. My daughter Elsa Moberg assisted me in taking this panorama.
