I returned to Edinburgh after a month working in the Far East (see WWP 1207). Rushing to prepare for the Christmas holiday, I'm at home for the solstice. A couple of hours after the actual event it is just light enough in Edinburgh to see the view from the Conservatory that was completed whilst I was away on business. Close inspection shows it hasn't been painted, but this is home, and this is where in a couple of days time we will sit as a family and celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ. The outside temperature is just below freezing, it is damp outside, we call it "raw". In these latitudes it is common to build such a "glass-room" onto properties so that gardens can be enjoyed all year round rather than just in the short summer months.
