Morning walk with Remy Basque, who is in charge of the Natural Reserve of Séné. The Brittany coast and particularly the Golfe du Morbihan (like most of the inhabited coasts of the planet) is subjected to a pressure due to both tourism and demography, which has in the course of years resulted in the disappearance of many of the wet lands, many of which were drained or have been turned into marinas. These marshes rich in flora and in fauna play a determinant role in the ecosystem and the preservation of these areas has become necessary in view of the increasing urbanization and tourism. The Reserve of Séné was born of the will of protectors of the environment (Bretagne Vivante - SEPNB) who have spared no efforts for nearly thirty years in order to transform this area into a sanctuary for thousands of birds. Some of the species find there rest and food during their migratory halts, whereas others find in this reserve an ideal environment for reproduction.
