Contemporary to Barbie, growth in space of stagnation. Gagarin, Cold War, ice-cream-for twenty-copecks, every summer spent by the sea-side.

The small Ukrainian town - Belaya Tserkov (White Church) capital Kiev - near by, optimism, hippysm, cheap wine, banks of Ross-river, green of canabis.

The atmosphere of mom"s laboratory - chicken soup armed in a chemist"s bowl, portraits of longhaired Russian scientists Lomonosov and Mendeleev, who looked like pop stars. Nonpredictional, almost busy father - bibliomaniac.

Old pictures and icons in the house of Grandad Buryan and second grandfather - Pavel Alexandrov - killed by bolshevics in 1928, artist academically educated in pre-revolutionary St.Petersburg Academy of Fine Art, especially his notebooks, describing painting techniques and pages of womens adresses and their favorite perfumes.

Seems I was fated to be an artist, did not find myself, study medicine in Leningrad, working as loyer's secretary in Moscow, street cleaner or boiler stroker (charismatic job of my generation soviet intellectuals), even as an beuorocrat - I met Perestroika in chair of the last soviet censor for rock lyrics in Gorbachov's time .

After my first tentative steps in the alternative art life in private salons and illegal shows at the end of 70s and middle 1980s, I was lucky and the boom of Russian art arrived. Pictures began to be bought in corporate collections by West LB ( Germany ), Amer Group (Finland), a university collection by Dundee (Scotland) and collections by Kiev Museum of Russian Art, St.Petersburg Toy Museum and Venice Sculpture park. Many pices are in private collections.

Toys is my last passion, done by wood, papier-mashe and all kind of rubbish I can find around. To decorate them - I use water-based natural pigments, eggs and wax for polish. Most of them makes moves and sounds.
