The Tripura Sundari Kali temple in Udaipur, Tripura is a place of holy pilgrimage. People sacrifice goats to appease the Goddess Kali and to be granted a wish. These days sometimes a buffalo is sacrificed and just 200 years ago even humans were sacrificed. The crowds, from toddlers to old people seem unperturbed by the spectacle and the atmosphere is more like a fete.
