This particularly tranquil, shady spot in Canyon de Chelly is about three-quarters of a mile west of Antelope House Ruin. Our all-day tour stopped here for a brief rest in the shade on the way back from Mummy Cave before continuing on to Spider Rock. Here the canyon walls are almost 400 feet high while further east toward Spider Rock they reach 1000 feet. On a previous trip to the canyon earlier in the season, about one foot of slowly flowing water completely covered the sand in this view. This HDR (High Dynamic Range) Spherical image was captured on July 23 in the early afternoon. The 24 frames (8 bracketed images including nadir and zenith) were assembled and processed with PTGui Pro and Pano2VR.
Equipment
Canon Rebel XSi, Sigma 10mm, Nodal Ninja 5L.
