Greenland is the world's largest island with a land area of 836,330 square miles (2,166,086 square kilometers). Over 80% of the island is covered by glacial ice. Innumerable fjords, steeply cut by glaciers, make up much of the coastline.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to spend two weeks exploring this spectacular landscape. Along with a small group of fellow paddlers, we loaded sea kayaks with our food, clothing and gear, and set out to traverse the Sermiliq/Angmagssilik fjord complex. Along the way we explored fjords filled with icebergs, rocky shorelines and tundra meadows blooming with flowers in the short arctic summer. We saw whales, seals, sea birds and arctic foxes. We watched the sun turn around us with golden evenings that lasted for hours in the (near) 24-hour-long days.

An amazing trip. An amazing place. I'm pleased to be able to share some of the beauty here, and to be the first to plant a WWP pin in this corner of the globe.
