A global event on the equinox calls for images of equality in diversity. NW Florida, USA, has rare coastal dune lakes that open and close to the sea, so are part fresh and part sea water. Hwy 30A bridges Deer Lake, cutting the panorama in half, with yellow dividing lines like an infinite equal sign. Fresh tire skid marks delightfully take off from the linear road, like mist in the dawn light.
Geographically, the road leads west along the coast to Seaside and Pensacola. The road leads east to Panama City Beach and far-off Tampa. The view to the south is of white quartz crystal sand dunes and the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. North is the forest, kept in trim by lightning fires and hurricanes.
Planting the United Nations flag was my stand for no more war. That put me in equal danger from alligators in the water and vehicles on the road, which is located half way between two military air force bases. The medium size panorama is equalized, a Photoshop graphic adjustment that balances grayscale values equally between light and dark, while revealing magical colors.
