In New York City's Central Park, there is an area called Strawberry Fields, created in John Lennon's memory by Yoko Ono. Lying in an intersection of walking paths is a tribute to John Lennon and his vision for peace.
The monument is a circular mosaic of black and white marble tiles and in the center is the title of John Lennon's song, "Imagine". It is flat and you can walk over it but everyone walks around it because there are daily arrangments of flowers from visitors and endearing fans. It was nice to see parents explaining to their kids who John Lennon was and why there is a memorial for him.
The ghosting effect of the people was done to add a sense of depth and time. People stop, pause and then move on leaving a bit of their spirit behind. I had been watching an animimated movie by Hayao Miyazaki called Spirited Away.
Audio track credits: the voice of Gary Santos, Jr. - Peace symbol artist; James Denny - guitar and vocals; and the music of John Lennon's "Imagine".
March 20th was also the day for many anti-war rallies around the world. I felt compelled to take panoramas of the anti-war rally in NYC too. For the day, it was the most significant thing happening and I felt it was important for me to be there. People come and go but the politics never seem to change. So many years later instead of being an anti-war protestor, I am seeing it again as a 360 observer. There were lots of people with cameras but few with 360's in their collective consciousness. 360vr.com/wwp04
