The arboretum at North Hennepin Community College is south of the campus. The natural area contains a variety of plants, trees, and other wildlife.

The arboretum is situated in the middle of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, nowhere near the borders. Upon entering the area you cross a border between 'civilization' and nature. The outside world tries to intrude with noise and sometimes a glimpse of the college (visible down the trail), or a neighboring house if you are near the edge.

Several trees are toppled over, presumably from the storm on September 21st (see my ENERGY entry).
