Bogs of Irschenberg

I'm not sure whether "Schwamhamer Filzn" actually is the right title for my panorama. Schwamham mainly consists of a few farm houses so it might be more correct to name this area after the close village called Irschenberg. Filzn or Filze (and even Fuizn which might be a bit difficult to articulate for the less trained tongue) is the Bavarian term for bogs, a special type of wetland or moor.

At the time when I reached this place the last rays of daylight hit the surrounding birch trees. Without enough power of the Sun at this early time of the year the temperature dropped a little bit while the humidity of the surrounding wetland served for a spooky atmosphere. Don't step aside of this path or you might end up in Wikipedia's list of some famous people...

A few days after I shot this panorama I found some time to reuse the data which my GPS device had recorded while I was searching for this spot: I uploaded the description to OpenStreetMap so others can follow my trail, maybe with the help of the more specialized Hike & Bike Map (which wasn't updated with my changes while I wrote these lines).

If you carefully listen to the sound you might be able to hear the traffic on the autobahn which is just a few hundred meters away. This is a major path from Bavaria's capital Munich to Salzburg in Austria.
