Airplanes like Delta's Boeing 777 sitting outside have changed the scale of the globe. On Tuesday morning I was at home in the San Francisco, California area. I spent the morning at work and then caught a flight on a 757 to Detroit. A couple of hours later I was on this plane for Amsterdam where I spent an amazing 40 hours. Friday morning I was back on a 767 from Amsterdam to Portland, Oregon and finally on a 737 back home to be ready to go back to work on Saturday morning.

Aircraft like these and the airports around the world that support them have decreased the scale of the world in the last 110 years.

What will that scale be in another 110 years?
