The Palmeral of Elche - World Heritage id n : 930. The partial panorama shows a view of Elche from a high building terrace. Elche is an old city (+2000 years) grown from the mixtures of many ancient cultures. Only half of the city is seen in this pano, the old part with the sea at the background about 10 km (see wwp 21/04/04). What makes Elche different is the fact that it is surrounded by palm tree forests "palmerales", the largest in Europe. Apart from the Palmerales, the pano also shows some of the main locations of the city, such as the University, the Castle, The Basilica, The New and Old Townhall and some of the bridges that connect the two sides of the city. Elche is also known for "El Misteri", Unesco Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity - 2001 .More panos and info to come soon hopefully!
