At the end of Vicenza's main street, the "Corso Andrea Palladio", is "Piazza Matteotti" with the arched entrance of the "Teatro Olimpico" (1580s), one of the most wonderful Renaissance designs, and the oldest standing indoor theatre still in use today. On the other side of the square is the "Palazzo Chiericati" (1550), one of Palladio's most imperious buildings, and now home of the "Museo Civico" - also known as the "Pinacoteca".
