Nécropole Nationale La Targette in Neuville-Saint-Vaast. A French World War I (1914 to 1918) cemetery with 11.443 burials and a mass grave of 3,882. Close to this cemetery British, Canadian and German cemeteries can be found. About 159,000 soldiers died in the 39 days of the Battle of Arras in 1917. Almost a century later, one wonders if we learned anything from it all.
