The extremely beautiful "veil waterfall" has fresh-water limestone tufa stairs. These stairs were formed by nature. The calcified sediment buried under itself several water plants, tree roots and these were turned into stone. In Bükk-Plateau the rainfall disappears in different types of cavities. The water makes carbonic acid from carbon dioxide in the air. This acid first dissolves the limestone and when it reaches the surface it lays down in the form of caustic sludge, so limestone tufa dams are erected like this. The caustic sludge (the dissoved limestone) covers the "stairs" like a transparent veil and forms more and more terraces and stairs. Caption in Hungarian (Magyarul)
