Fun at the Beach

The Dutch have a hate/love relation with water in general and the sea particularly. The Dutch have been fighting the sea since ages and the struggle is still going on. I chose to show the sea at one of his quietest moment in the period where a heat wave hitted the lowlands. People were seeking refuge for the sun at the ever-cooler beach. The beaches in Bloemendaal and the nearby Zandvoort are in favour by the trendy young people. The tide was low and in the remaining water the little children can safely play with water and sand.
