Once I had heard what the theme was for this event, I knew what I was going to shoot. The one thing that Malvern is known for around the world is our water. It is drunk by everyone from the average person on the street up to celebrities and royalty. The water that is bottled, is drawn from Primeswell spring (originally called Pewtress spring), a private spring close to where this panorama was taken. From there it is piped about 2km to Colwall, a small village on the west side of the hills where it is bottle and then distributed all over the world.
Of course the hills doesn't only have these two springs, the current list is over a hundred (an almost complete list can be found here, click on the spinning cameras to see panoramas of some of the springs). The list includes springs that have dried up or are just a trickle through to fast running springs like this one. Many people visit the springs to collect and drink the water, some even travel great distances. The panorama was shot at the end of a warm day and a glass of cool refreshing water was very welcome.
