Trwynhwrddyn promontory juts out into Whitesands Bay, one of the finest swimming and surfing beaches in the country. It was the site of St Patrick's Chapel (6th - 10th Century, no ruins survive) and the embarkation point for his journey to Ireland. Sea voyagers used to pray here for their safety before a journey, and give thanks upon their return.Location
