Ray and Kathy Robinson have spent the last 20 years rebuilding an old homestead near Deadwood, Oregon. Prior to their purchase, the land had been razed by bulldozers, piled high with rusting cars and other garbage and was otherwise an ecological disaster.
Through their elevated sense of duty to the land, they carefully rebuilt the wetlands that were bulldozed by the prior owners. Ray and Kathy rebuilt the ponds, lake, creek and other water sources. Along with this they carefully built a hobby railroad. The railroad is a passion as is the restoration of the land. Now, 20 years later, there is quite a bit of track, a many train enthusiasts, and thousands of bugs, other animals and plants that call this property home! This is an elevated sense of duty to the land and duty to a hobby!
