Unfortunately I’m in Prairie land. Flat, flat and more flat. The locations with higher altitude (tall buildings, water towers, etc.) would not grant access. As is typical for this week – every year – it was almost constant rain. So shooting the ant hill was out. I suppose the ants were more distressed than I, as the fruits of their endeavors kept washing away. My tree-climbing days are long past… Then I thought about shooting from a pitcher’s mound at a local baseball park. The rain pretty much ruled that out as well.
So it was shooting from the roof. It’s a great snapshot of Chicagoland living – we’re in a typical suburb, with a nice, large park across the street.
