This Mural painting is located at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. It portrays an American worker using a machine, symbol of humankind´s technology. Under him a hand holds a sphere which symbolizes the energy that we (humans) will someday control.

This painting was originally painted at the hall of the RCA building at the Rockefeller Center in New York City. Unfortunately the original painting was destroyed due to Rivera´s political opinions (portrayed in the mural) and his membership in the communist party. His work was repainted by request of the Mexican government to commemorate the inaguration of this building.
