The Sahara Car

One of Many Classic Cars Owned by Author Clive Cussler

Chances are you are already somewhat familiar with adventure writer/shipwreck hunter/classic car collector Clive Cussler; either through his many books or the movie ‘Sahara’ featuring American actor Matthew McConaughey as Dirk Pitt.

Cussler has a colorful collection of over 80 classic cars which he keeps in a museum/warehouse in Arvada Colorado. During the Summer Months the museum is open to the public two days a week.

On Saturday the 23rd several local car clubs were invited to view Cussler’s collection and I was able to tag along. Cussler’s daughter kindly gave me permission to shoot and I ended up with several panos; including this one of the ‘Sahara Car.’ The Cussler Fan Web site identifies the ‘Sahara Car’ as a 1936 Avions Voisin.
