'Hangar Flying' is a type of transportation that doesn't involve physically going anywhere, but sharing stories of places you've been (or think you've been) when talking to your friends. Where better to do that then at sunset at a friend's hangar over a bar-b-que and a couple beers? This is the hangar of my friend Dave. He has hangar parties every once in a while and invites friends to go for an afternoon flight and then a BBQ. He uses his Piper Cherokee 180 to fly for fun, for weekend trips, for travel, and for adventure. Tonight's BBQ was attended by his wife Joanie, and friends Mary, Joel, Joel's grandkids, and Luna and Voodoo, the dogs. I was also invited and took Dave up for a flight in the small purple and white plane out on the taxiway. I learned to fly about 10 years ago in that Cessna 152 affectionately called 'Burt' by his owners. Sit down, have a piece of chicken, and tell us about that time you were on short final with the wind gusting to 50 knots holding full throttle just to touch down. Even if you've never flown, you'll enjoy the stories.
