Caption
White Rock Lake Park is a beautiful oasis in the city of Dallas, Texas. The lake was created in 1911 to serve as a water supply for the city. The surrounding park was formed in 1929 as a public recreation area. This area encompasses 2115 acres with 1088 acres of lake surface and 9.5 miles of shoreline. My wife and I walk our two dogs here almost everyday of the year. Sun, rain, hot or cold we come here to help "Sustain" and refresh ourselves. White Rock Park also gives "Sustenance" to a wide variety of wildlife. Thirty-three mammals including bobcats, red foxes and coyote call the park home. There are also 54 documented reptiles, 20 amphibians, 217 birds and 19 fish.
