During the recent restoration work of the Reggia di Venaria Reale, the archaeologists found in the middle of the Court of Honour the remains of the lost Deer Fountain, so called from a bronze deer (Boucheron, 1665) hunted by twelve marble dogs and four hunters. The new amazing Water theatre represents a modern citation of the lost 17th century fountain. The new fountain ellipse has a perimeter of 115 meters; along it are 96 choreoswitch water nozzles, 96 mistcaping steam nozzles and 96 RGB LED projectors, all of them completely computer driven, permitting infinite choreographies; water jets can reach 9 meters in height. The Reggia di Venaria Reale dates back to the 17the century, wanted by Carlo Emanuele II di Savoia "for pleasure and hunting". It is part of a large historical area in the Turin surroundings, including the ancient Venaria village and the big La Mandria park - formerly a hunting reserve. In 1997 the Reggia has been inscribed in UNESCO as the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy. After centuries of decline and abandon, it has been completely restaured after eight years of huge, accurate and expensive works; after its inauguration in 2007 it has been visited by thousands of worldwide tourists.
