Around 1,800 swimmers prepare to offer a spectacle that takes place every year in the lake at Banyoles. The mass of spectators comes hoping not to miss the moment when these athletes plunge forward and break the water's calm surface. Some of the participants are striving for record times and public acclaim. Others simply want to enjoy being in touch with nature among the throng of swimmers passing through this special place that gives our town its name.
