The All-Ireland Gaelic Football final, Kerry vs Cork, was held in Dublin on Sunday 20th. The Gorringe Park is a small, friendly Irish pub in Tooting, South London, and the match was shown there - a very popular event. The bar got rather full, but friends had saved seats for my wife and me.

This was the first time I'd seen a Gaelic football match, and it was quite an incredible experience. The game seems like a fast and furious blend of soccer, rugby and basketball. Cork started well but Kerry proved to have the edge, and won in a tense finish.

This panorama was shot moments after the end of the match. The Kerry supporters around us are showing their delight by cheering and waving a flag, a giant inflatable hand, and a green-and-yellow feather boa - which is being wrapped around a Cork supporter.

Behind the scene : how this panorama was made
This was shot hand-held; you can see my tripod left up by the window where I was sitting. It was a rather rushed process in the end, and the fact that I'd had a fair few pints of bitter while watching the match meant that there were all sorts of issues, from camera shake to imprecise rotation. This took careful work first in PTGui and then Photoshop, but the result proved better than I'd hoped. There are still some issues, but it captures the moment pretty well.
