When I got the current theme, I thought, like many of us I suppose, of actual crossroads, made of two or more intersecting roads. By the way, one of the proposed meaning really got me: the place where “they” make important decisions. Here you can see Palazzo Mezzanotte, the headquarters for the Italian stock exchange. One may call it the “Italian Wall Street building”; as you can imagine it really is a place full of “crossroads”, and here I stop. In front of it, for just a few days, there is a sculpture by an Italian artist: Maurizio Cattelan. He is a very controversial artist; for example, he made many other controversial works like “the ninth hour” that shows Pope John Paul II, struck down by a meteorite. You can imagine the possible meaning of “this” work, in front of the Italian stock exchange building...

Quando ho visto il tema di questa volta ho pensato, come molti di noi suppongo, ad un effettivo incrocio di due o piu’ strade. D’altra parte sono stato colpito da uno dei significati suggeriti, e cioe’ quello di un posto dove vengono prese decisioni cruciali. Qui potete vedere Palazzo Mezzanotte, sede della Borsa italiana: se volete e’ la Wall Street italiana; come potete immaginare, e’ proprio un posto pieno di “incroci”…e mi fermo qui… Di fronte ad esso, solo per pochi giorni, c’e’ una scultura di un artista italiano: Maurizio Cattelan. E’ un artista molto controverso come diverse delle sue opere; una di queste e’ “la nona ora”, che mostra Papa Giovanni Paolo II, “buttato a terra” da un meteorite. Vi lascio immaginare il possibile significato di “questa” opera, posta di fronte al palazzo della Borsa…..
