"They know no season but the end of time."

The purpose of Canada's national cemeteries are to memorialize the people, great or small, who shaped our history and identity as a country. Beechwood Cemetery is home to the:
— The National Military Cemetery ~ Le cimetière militaire national
— The RCMP National Memorial Cemetery ~ Le Cimetière commémoratif national de la Gendarmerie royale du Canada national
— The National Cemetery of Canada ~ Cimetière national du Canada

The panorama opens looking at the Cross of Sacrifice, created to honour and remember all Commonwealth war veterans. This movie shows the Commonwealth War Graves section of the National Military Cemetery where World War One and Two Veterans are laid to rest.
Since the Northwest Rebellion of 1885, Canadian soldiers killed in the line of duty and veterans of war can be buried at the National Military Cemetery in Ottawa.

The cemetery inspired a classic Canadian poem "In Beechwood Cemetery" by Archibald Lampman with its memorable final line, "They know no season but the end of time."
