Caption
The fortress, which began to be relevant at the time of James I, was in a border according to the Treaty of Almizra. The building lost its role during the modern era, and while it was used sporadically, was used as a cemetery and fell into ruin. It was declared a National Monument in 1931. Since the late twentieth century has been restored several times, so that today it is in good condition.
