A original watch-tower of the former German Democratic Republic.
After a peaceful reunification of Germany one can visit many spots of the former BRD/GDR borderline. This place in "Mödlareuth" is very special because it preserves the original frontline of the GDR, including this watch-tower, the wall, control estabishments etc.
The village "Mödlareuth" was divided by the wall into 2 parts, each only a couple of meters away from the other, but unreachable by political means.
1989 Germany celebrates 25 anniversary of the German Reunification, so this was a remarkable date to visit these spots.
