New York - New Jersey, USA
In a previous career I was a film-based photo-illustrator. It was part creating conceptual images by orchestrating multiple camera exposures through camera masks and projection screens with pin-registered films that were handled in the darkroom...before Photoshop made it all too easy. It did teach me to see the picture in my mind before I went about creating it.
Now I enjoy going back to taking spontaneous photographs. The challenge of doing exciting 360 degree photo-journalistic spherical panoramas is a real rush. Seasoned photographers will create or find the right lighting and bring the subject and defining moment(s) together. The extra challenge is in the other 240 degrees that most other image-makers choose not to include in their field of vision.
I've become passionate about creating a style of exceptional spherical panoramas that offers a fresh visual perspective while still having a story to tell. This is what great photography should be about...a visual narrative intimately crafted by the sensibilities of the photographer-artist.
Thanks to the original QuickTime VR developers for its QTVR technology and to the other 360 VR developers and photographers in this community, we can share our three hundred and sixty degree vision for others to explore. Stop seeing the world through a frame, surely you'll be missing a lot.
