The Botanical Gardens of Rio de Janeiro could very well serve as a subject for the previous WWP event, Borders. It defines a frontier between the calm and uniqueness of the world's largest urban forest - Tijuca Forest - and the frantic mundane life of the city.

Created by D. João VI - at the time prince regent that would become later king of Portugal - at the year 1808 to be an acclimatization place for the spices brought from the East Indies, the Botanical Gardens of Rio de Janeiro are recognized internationally as a Living Museum in the area of Botany and defined by UNESCO as one of the reserves of biosphere.
