Rose Garden

The Rose Garden is part of the Rosenhöhe, a landscaped garden in the English style. The park was built in 1810 by Michael Zeyher in place of a former vineyard.

The Rose Garden with the Rose Dome was built in the time of grand duke Ernst Ludwig at the beginning of the last century.

Since 1979, the city of Darmstadt takes care of the garden. It was partly destroyed and neglected in the World Wars. Today, it has been restored to its historic appearance and is a lovely place to go. The nearby botanical garden of the TU-Darmstadt is worth a visit too.
