Caption
I take skyscapes from an old water tower platform atop the Kendrick Mill building, 100 feet above Pastorius Street in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. The skycam shown here is ScanCam Mark 23, made from the electronics of a Umax 3400 desktop scanner and parts of its deceased ancestors, ScanCams Mark 2 and Mark 3. With its 16mm fisheye lens elevated 42 degrees, it captures a 35 megapixel image of the dome of the sky in a leisurely two minute revolution.
