Photography’s relationship to the passage of time

The panorama was produced October 1, 2008, at the Blink Gallery in Ottawa Canada.

Karina Kraenzle is a photo-based artist working in a variety of media. Her most recent pieces employ old, found photographs, that are reworked in various ways on paper, canvas or wood. The result is a melancholy contemplation of photography’s relationship to the passage of time and the elusive quality of memory. Karina lives and works in Ottawa and currently shows her work at the Blink Gallery and La Petite Mort Gallery.

As a non-profit collective Blink Gallery contributes in a vital way to the local community and economy through sales, educational seminars and workshops. These cultural activities are aimed at the development of understanding and appreciation of contemporary Canadian art practices.
