Maybe not the best photographic work I've ever done, or even the best panorama I've ever put together, but it represents some of the best times I've had in 2008. I could also say that this panorama is taking the optional theme of "Tis the season" as the traffic on the way to the slopes definitely reminded me.

Saturday after Christmas my wife and I went with my brother and his girlfriend up to the Lake Tahoe area for a bit of fun in the snow. I'd never been to Homewood before but found it to be amazing. It truly has some of the best views in all of the Tahoe area.

At one point my brother went off the side, "on purpose" he says, and I took the opportunity to take my point-and-shoot out of the pocket and try a quick hand-held panorama. Not only is it a great little camera, but the advances over the past couple of years in PTgui has made panorama assembly almost too easy. With no exposure locking capability, no tripod, standing on waxed planks on a snow covered hill, I still managed to put together an OK panorama showing the magnificent view and us having a good time together.

Thanks to Ben and Kelsey for giving us the encouragement to go have some fun!
