The Fire Museum of Memphis is located in and adjacent to an old fire house in the middle of downtown. In addition to having a memorial wall to local fire fighters who have lost their lives while protecting others; the museum also has information on the history of fires and fire fighting equipment and techniques.

Most importantly the museum educates both children and adults about fire safety. Important all year long, but even more so in winter when there are more risks for fires in the house. There is everything from a talking horse to a fire simulation room where you get an idea how quickly a fire can spread.

If you have not recently checked your smoke detector battery, do it today!
