Inside the courtyard of the Sulzbach castle. Most of the castle's buildings originated in the 14th Century, with additions from the 16th Century.

Excavations led to the discovery of a graveyard, with nine graves located close to the old chapel, dating back to around the 9th Century. The darker cobbles mark the outlines of the stone sarcophagi.

Little is known about who is buried here, only that they must've been of some importance back in their day. Just goes to show that what we call history is only the coarsest outlines being remembered, and as the distance in time increases, details disappear or get paved over until there's nothing left but accidental finds that offer little glimpses into the past.
