I used geocaching to help identify a location for this shoot.

I wanted someplace high where I look down at the world.

I searched for scenic location within 20km of Saint John, sorted them by popularity then looked through the gallery of pictures. A five hour hike with a couple friends and our dogs. I knew the snow was going to prevent us from finding the geocache this trip, but the location did make a good pano.

Originally I captured a nadir shot to remove me and my shadow but it really defines the scale of the trees in the pano. The trees were all shorter than normal for the area. I am guessing that it is because they are exposed to the winds that break them down. The soil is shallow and most of the water would run right off.
